Our coaches enjoy, and have experience, working with kids. We keep these classes exclusively for youth from ages 6 to 12. 45 minutes long, please view our class types; Kids Boxing, Kickboxing and Fitness Fundamentals below.
Our youth schedule is:
Tuesday @ 4:30 PM
Thursday @ 4:15 PM
Saturday @ 10AM
Youth Boxing teaches the fundamentals of boxing in a format that is engaging and fun. In addition to learning how to box, the classes promote strength, endurance and coordination.
Similar to Kickboxing movements with kick and elbow strikes, bag work, cardio and strength training. Fundamentals, defensive moves and combinations.
Kids enjoy a "bootcamp" style workout designed just for them. Learning and practicing fitness fundamentals early helps with development confidence and new skills.
According to scientific research, exercise improves mental health by reducing anxiety, depression and negative mood while improving self-esteem and cognitive function. This is only becoming increasingly important as we see our children glued to social media at a time in their life that their academic and social lives are getting more complicated and stressful. Having an outlet while building skills and improving physical health is hugely helpful regarding mental health
Physical fitness is, of course, very important to all of us at SBX! Never before have our day to day activities been so sedentary. Beyond COVID having relegated us to our couches and stopped us from even getting up to go to the office and our kids from going to school, we're sitting in front of a screen all day! As you can imagine, obesity, cardiovascular disease, muscle atrophy, mental health issues and more are exacerbated by poor physical fitness. Our children are what we value most, don't let the issues of modern society impact their health!
More and more, our children are stuck to devices. The sad truth is that it seems kids are more interested in Instagram and TikTok than they are in real life! Here at SBX they'll have an invigorating and interesting REAL LIFE activity. There's no substitute to interacting with people face to face. During our fitness classes, kids will be having a great time with each other and our awesome coaches while improving their physical and mental health.
1. Will my child be punching, or being punched by other kids?
NO! Our boxing classes are exclusively non-contact. Your kids will be punching our heavy-bags or specifically designed boxing mitts that our coaches use for a more interactive workout. Safety is our #1 priority! We do not condone or encourage violence of any kind.
2. My child is 13, can he still join SBX Warrior Kidz?
Our age limit for SBX Warrior Kidz is 12. This limit is less about the workout itself, but the character and style of the class. For youths over 12, we recommend our standard Unlimited Membership. They will fit right in with the rest of our members in a more "big kid" format. Better yet, save with our "Duo Membership" and join our classes with your kid!
